Sweetness
Posté par djalie le avril 19, 2009
You lie, you don’t know the sweetness
You know nothing of the granted confidence
Of the defeated fear
Of the appeased hunger
You lie, you don’t know the sweetness
You know nothing of the metallic taste of blood
Of the starry bitterness of hope
Of the silky perfume of victory
You know nothing, you lie all the time
You know nothing of the sweetness one feels
For the one missing, outstanding
Bright, recognized, obvious
You lie, you don’t know the sweetness
You know nothing of the hours spent waiting
Of the key moment when all is untangled
Of the joy so sweet, when all falls over
You lie, you don’t know the sweetness
However, it’s your name I shout
However, it’s your picture I pin at the back of my heart
However, it’s your silhouette I draw around my body
However, it’s your voice I hold in each of my words
I lie, I lie too
Like you, like I breathe
I lie to the sweetness of the link, fragile, subtle,
that exists between you and me.
This pain that lies in you, in me
that forces us to try and be ourselves
That is, for me, the definition of sweetness.
A l’amant…
